I adore: People. Transformation. Connection. Nature. Adventure. Laughter. Frogs. And all-things-cozy.
Looking back on my earliest memories, I’ve always been super-curious and fascinated by people. It’s said that you become a master of something after practicing it for ten thousand hours. Without intending to, I’ve easily deep-practiced the art of observing people and social situations for at least that many hours. These observations have allowed me to become skilled at sensing and understanding what’s happening for people in their inner world. It helps me to relate to them and put them at ease.
I believe that discovering, loving, and honoring our true selves is the greatest and most creative mission there is. Beautiful magic comes from that place.
I love noticing the inherent beauty that exists in the universe. Artists are some of my favorite conveyors of such things (and by “artist” I mean anyone who loves and shares his or her craft in the world—whatever it may be). I’m crazy about the way artists notice and celebrate the diverse and rich landscapes of life. Some of my favorites are Maya Angelou, Maurice Sendak, Will Ferrell, Claude Monet, Martha Beck, Joseph Campbell, Florence Welch, and Jason Mraz…to name just a few who inspire me.
My favorite modes of connecting to life are via metaphor, animal symbolism, story sharing and comedy, and laughter-filled adventures.
I have strong Pollyanna tendencies—I am a cheerleader at heart. I love helping people reframe difficult situations—to find and create new space and to see and feel into the gorgeous possibilities that exist. There’s nothing better than witnessing the transformation that happens when we see the gifts and perfection that are always present in each moment.
Top on my list of favorite-things-to-do is acknowledging and calling attention to people’s achievements, talents, and accomplishments…helping them to notice their contributions and strengths and to see that most of the time they have come farther along than they believe.
I am a certified Martha Beck Life Coach, Anamsong Endorsed Mind-Body Coach, and a faculty member for Mind Body Coach University.
A While Back
I graduated from The College of Saint Rose with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a minor in Psychology. I have worked as an Intake Coordinator for the Department of Child Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital, helping parents and caregivers set up first-time appointments for children who were struggling with mental illness. I have also worked as a counselor and assistant program director in a residential treatment facility helping the mentally ill learn how to reintegrate into the community. It was one of my all-time favorite jobs. The people I had the privilege of working with (staff and clients) were some of the kindest, most loving, and most soulful people I’ve ever met.
I am so grateful for all I’ve learned in my life journey, studies, and previous work thus far!
